One of my sayings is that if I have to do more than spin my seat and get behind the wheel to get underway, that is too much. One of the things we like the least is leveling the RV, so most of the time we don't do it. But if it is really bad, we get out the blocks.
The newer LTVs come with an optional leveling system made to EQ Systems that automagically level the RV using hydraulic jacks. The company sells a kit to put onto your existing RV. I purchased the kit and did the install myself.
It took me about 3 days, I went slow, but the install is largely mechanical. I did have to relocate our propane regulator, but that was the only real change I need to make.
I mounted the pump and valve right in front of the electric step, it is above the step in height from the ground. I also fabricated a protective plate to keep road debris from damaging the plastic hydraulic tank
We used our jacks on our trip in the spring of 2023 and are very happy with how much easier it makes it to park and not have to fool around in the the rain leveling the RV.
Update - December of 2023: One of my jacks stuck and would not move. I was able to manually operate the valve and it would move. EQ systems sent me a new Solenoid and Valve assembly. It seems to have fixed the issue. I hope this doesn't happen again, it would be harder to fix on the road but at least I know how to manually operate the valves now.
